  1. How does Katz Anonymous Hosting™ work?
    Anonymous Hosting® is a service we provide worldwide to people and businesses who need enhanced privacy. There are many valid reasons to maintain total privacy. You may wish to stop domain-related spam, deter identity theft & fraud, prevent harassers, stalkers & data miners from being effective, protect your identity when your job security is on the line, stop abusive spouses from harassing you, maintain privacy if you are a famous person and even to gain privacy when exercising your first amendment rights of free speech. We do not condone fraud, and will not protect your privacy online if you try to use our services for fraudulent purposes to commit fraud against others or commit libel online against the public or other businesses. When using our service we expect you to maintain the law and act within the laws found in your jurisdiction.

  2. Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?
    Our minimum plan is 3 months. You can pay for 3, 6, 12, or 24 months in advance. You can also cancel at any time. We do not force you to sign a payment based contract and the minimum commitment is only your first quarters payment.

  3. How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
    All payments must be completed before a hosting account will get set up, or before a domain name can be registered. Upon clicking the order button on the order page you will be shown all of our payment options. We will manually send you a confirmation of your order with the specific total and payment instructions. You do not have to wait for this if you already know your total and decide to use our automated payment options.

    Virtual hosting and domain only accounts:

    Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. What this means is that although we have people staffing our business 24/7, they are not always going to be available to help you establish service right away. We do the majority of our accounts in real time as soon as the order or request comes in, but sometimes we get very busy and this can cause delays of up to 4 hours and in extreme cases 6 hours which is very rare. Most orders are handled within 1 hour or less depending on how busy we are and what time you place your order. If you do not receive your setup email within this timeframe, please contact us.

    We do not automate anything and all accounts are set up by a real person because we feel it is important to understand our customers needs. We provide you with a service backed up by real people who believe in your privacy and can be there to help when you run into technical issues, or have questions of any sort about your website and business.

    Your site will be uploaded to our servers before your domain name will be accessible. It takes up to 24 hours for the domain name server (DNS) update to occur. As an ISP, we have no control over DNS record modification. This goes for all domain registrars. We guarantee that your domain will activate on the web at the same time or before any other registrar even with their immediate replies and automated systems.

    Dedicated Accounts and Specialized Services:


    Time to setup for this service fully depends on what servers we have in stock in the location you have chosen to host from. A good rule of thumb is 3-7 days from the time of order and longer if you need a custom server purchased and built to your specs.

    Colocated Server Accounts:

    Once a server is received at the end location, it will be setup within 3 days or less. Shipping time to get a server to any particular location will delay your order by the amount of shipping time and the time it takes to get the server through customs if shipping overseas.

  4. Do I have access to update my site 24 hours a day?
    Absolutely. Whether you're a day person or a night owl, your site is available for you to update from any location in the world that has an internet connection available..

  5. Can you register a domain name for me? Can you set up domains other than .com, .org, and .net?
    Click Here and you can order your domain name directly through our domain trust website within a few minutes. We can supply any domain name extention that is available.
    Some domains may cost more depending on the extention chosen.

  6. Do you offer a money back guarantee?
    Yes. If for any reason during the first 14 days as a Katz Gobal Media customer, you are not completely satisfied with any of our services, we will cancel your account and refund your money for that month's service.
    This applies only to shared/virtual account holders. Domain names, SSL Certs and dedicated services are non refundable.

  7. I see some hosts offering "unlimited bandwidth". Why don't you offer this?
    Technically speaking, there is no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth." Someone has to pay for the traffic somewhere - and if you check the fine print of some service agreements from companies who claim to offer unlimited bandwidth, you'll probably find that they do charge for traffic over a certain amount. We dispense with the fine print.

  8. Do you host adult and gambling sites?

    Short ansewer: Yes.

    Adult: We can host adult sites. Your site(s) must be legal adult sites that comply with statute 2257 of the USC code. You must specify that your site contains mature material at the time of ordering. We absolutely in no way will tolerate child pornography. We will take action to protect our servers from such things.


    Gambling: We can host licensed gambling sites.

  9. Is my site backed up and how often?
    It is the clients responsibility to do all back ups of their site. If, in the unfortunate event, something happens to your files, it is your responsibility to have a local copy of your files.
    We are NOT held liable in any way for any files, money, time, effort, etc... lost due to this unfortunate event. Furthermore, if your files are lost, we will attempt to restore them as a gesture of good faith, but make no promises what so ever about whether the files will be brought back successfully or not. Again, back ups are the client's responsibility.

  10. How fast are your connections?
    We have too many hosting locations and options to list here, but as a general rule we can provide up to 100 Mbps connections. Ping time from within the United States
    to any of our servers will fall between 70ms -100ms to the US servers, 130ms to South America and 220ms to locations in asia and the pacific region.

    You have many options depending on the services you select. For hosting you may pay for 3, 6, 12, or 24 months in advance.

Technical Questions
  1. I changed my control panel password and now I can't get in.
    Passwords are case sensitive and are limited to 12 characters. If you entered a password longer than 12 characters please try entering the first 12 characters when logging into your control panel.

  3. I want to get started right away, but my domain name hasn't transferred/isn't in the database yet. How do I do it?
    The welcome email we send you has complete details on uploading your site to the server immediately through a FTP application.  Your setup email contains the link to view your site before the DNS resolves. After your domain is fully propagated through the system, you can upload access your website through your browser and email services.

  5. Where should I put CGI scripts for my domain?
    All CGI scripts should be uploaded to the cgi-bin folder, for your domain. Be sure to follow the instructions for the script you are uploading regarding setting permissions on the files and folders you create, as they vary from script to script

  6. I uploaded my files, but I don't see my page?
    If our default "Welcome to the Future home of", index.html, has not been replaced by another index page, then anyone going to domainname.com will still see that page instead of some other home page. This is the order in which the web server looks for a page to put up as the "home" page: >DirectoryIndex: index.html, index.shtml  Just delete the index.html file and anything after it in this list will then come up automatically. Notice that "home.shtml" is NOT on the list and so will not show up as your home page. You would need to rename it.

    You can purchase new or expanded features, or upgrade to a new plan. There is no set up fee for upgrading.

  3. What happens if I go over the bandwidth limit for my account?
    If you exceed the bandwidth limit for your account the overage amount will be automatically billed at a rate of $5 per gigabyte per month.

  4. What is the cost for additional features?
    You can add additional features to the plan that you signed up for. Below are the rates for some commonly added features.

    Disk space - $3 per 100MB per month.

    Bandwidth - $3 per gigabyte per month

  5. How do I cancel my Account?
    You can cancel your account at any time by sending email to [email protected] There are no cancellation fees, and no notice is required. Any fees paid to that point are non-refundable, unless cancellation is made within 14 days of opening the account.

  6. What about billing and over due policies?
    Accounts will be given a grace period of 7 days, if payment is not received within the grace period your account will be put on hold status and not be viewable online. There will be a $29 reactivation fee. After 20 days your site will be deleted from our servers. In order to activate your account after non payment you will be charged a $49 setup fee


  7. What about Domain Name Expiration Policies?
    Domain Names must be renewed prior to the expiration date. Failure to renew your domain name prior to the expiration date, you will have a 7 day grace period, where normal renewal is possible with no added costs. After the 7 day grace period, your domain name will enter a Redemption grace period. Where the cost for redemption is: $99.00usd plus your normal renewal fee. In some instances domains have a 30 day grace period, depending on the registry we have partnered with for your domain name needs. Please contact us prior to your expiration, to see your options.
